A message from Perry Sylvester about Postcarbon Macomb:

This statement pertains to my personal vision. As the group grows, it is natural that the vision will change to reflect additional voices, personalities and interests.

I look to start a group in my home community that will work to raise awareness about the problems and challenges inherent in a carbon-based society. My primary focus is spreading the word on Peak Oil. In addition, I look to a community response to the social and economic dislocations that we can expect Peak Oil to cause. The community response I envision as action toward relocalization.

Specific actions I want to see in my community are the following:
• A series of public talks and documentary screenings on Peak Oil
• A town hall meeting on Peak Oil
• A formal statement from the City Government recognizing Peak Oil
